Lake Monger Community Shed - News

Today I went into the shed to take some measurements for the dust extraction ducting.  The inside and outside of the Shed is now very impressive...  Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of how the Shed is coming on.

A special thanks to Bunnings Warehouse Innaloo for their much appreciated donation of tools to the Lake Monger Community Shed . As a new shed, we are always on the lookout for tools and equipment to enable us to help our local community.  This donation helps fill some gaps in our list of required tools but if you have any hand, powered or other tools you would also like to donate, please contact us .  We will organise to pickup and remove from your business, workshop or home.

  Work has started on the new benches for the Cambridge Community Shed.  The metal frames are being constructed with the kind help from the Vincent Shed. the pictures show Bill Barnes cutting the legs and rails for the new benches.   Thanks to Bill, Rob Scantlebury and Rob Fredericks for their work so far.

  Today we were lucky enough to have access to our new shed for a quick look!  On site to answer our qustions were George Pudland, the Project Coordinator from the Town of Cambridge, along with his assistant Aron, a representative from the build contractor and the Chief Architect. The roof structure is complete and the insulation and roof sheeting will be in place by the end of the week. I was surprised how much larger the shed seemed close up.  The quality of the building is apparent and is sure to be an asset to the local community for a very long time.

 The crane was on site early today to lift the wall panels into place.  By around 11:00am, all the walls were up and the crane left the site.   Attached are some photos from the Bowling club, the car park and the hill to the North of the Shed (mostly hidden by the trees).
